Improvement Student’s Achievement in General Psychology Subject Through Cooperative Learning-Jigsaw

IMPROVEMENT  STUDENT’S ACHIEVEMENT IN GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY SUBJECT THROUGH COOPERATIVE LEARNING-JIGSAW

Most students achievement in General Psychology subject still far from the requirement. Usually they were teached by lecturing or presentation method. This study was be conducted in order to improve their achievement. The research was an action research with two cycles and used cooperative learning-jigsaw as the learning method.  The subjects were 36 students sophomore year who learn General Psychology in Psychology Program, Jakarta State University.  The  study result that there was a significant  improvement in academic achievement. Implication of this study was that cooperative learning can be used as an effective learning method to improve students achievement instead of lecturing or presentation.
